6 Questions to Ask Your Photographer

When looking for a photographer to capture your family or wedding, it’s smart to ask a few questions first! I totally get that a photographer can be a big investment. So before you jump in, here are a few 6 Questions to Ask Your Photographer:

6 Questions to Ask Your Photographer

Questions

1. How many photos will I receive from my session?

An hour session with me usually yields 70-150 photos, depending on the type of session.

2. Am I required to print photos from my session through you?

Some photographers require you to print through certain labs or buy prints Only through their business. I personally don’t require this, but I DO highly recommend printing through companies or labs that calibrate their machines often. (aka not Walmart, Costco, etc.) You want to colors to come out right!

3. What can I expect from a family photography session with you?

From me, personally, you can expect a session prep guide, a questionnaire, a discussion to choose your perfect location, and plenty of help planning your outfits! During your session, you can expect fun games and very possibly animal noises and dancing from me to get those smiles!

4. What should I bring to a photo session?

I come with a pretty off white blanket, wipes, safety pins, band aids, hand warmers in colder weather, and so much more. I suggest you come prepared with anything your kids will need also. Other than that, come rested, fed, and prepared to have fun!

5. How long will the session last?

You should be given this information before booking you session with a photographer! It should also be included in the contract you sign when booking. Regular sessions are usually up to an hour. Some photographers, including myself, offer mini sessions a few times a year. My mini sessions are and easy peasy 20 minutes!

6. How and when will I receive my pictures after my session?

Every photographer is different with their session turnaround time. I try my very best to get images back to you within two weeks. This can differ slightly close to holidays or busy season.

I would love to work with you!  Contact me to find out more about planning a session.  I promise we’ll have fun!  To see more Utah Family Sessions like this cute one, follow along on the Instagram!
